Mercedes-Benz Targa Florio 1924 white CMC M-206 -pre-owned

Description
A German with a Sicilian temperament
The heyday of supercharged racing cars began in 1923. Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft in Stuttgart-Untertürkheim was also keen to embrace this development and designed a new vehicle.
With the preparations for the racing car for the 1924 Targa Florio, Ferdinand Porsche had made an excellent debut as the new chief designer at Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft. The supercharged M7294 engine from 1923 was extensively redesigned under his personal direction and ultimately featured a whole series of groundbreaking innovations. Power was increased to 126 hp (up to 150 hp by the end of 1924). The supercharger – a so-called Roots blower – is flanged to the front of the engine. When power is required, the driver activates it by firmly pressing the accelerator pedal. The resulting mechanical supercharging increases power from the normal 68 hp to the aforementioned 126 hp.
Shortly before the start, the German racing cars, painted white according to FIA regulations valid until 1970, were repainted red. With this trick, Mercedes successfully prevented the cars from being pelted with stones by Italian fans during the many town crossings in Sicily. Only with this trick was it possible to achieve the one-two finish.
We at CMC also decided at the last minute to recolor one of the models, the M-206. This means that it will not be delivered in red as previously planned, but in white, as Mercedes had originally intended.
We have also succeeded in uncovering new and previously unknown archival material.
Based on this historically unique foundation, we have adapted the vehicles. They feature external fuel lines and, most importantly, the correct narrow racing tires, in line with the latest findings. We are also now certain that the vehicles had two spare wheels at the rear and have taken this into account accordingly.
With this variant we offer you a model completely in white, without starting numbers.
