Mercedes-Benz SSKL Mille Miglia Rudolf Caracciola CMC M-055

Description
Reissue of the legendary, long-out-of-print model of the Mercedes-Benz SSKL 'The White Elephant' in 10/2020
Unforgettable: The White Elephant
1931. Alfa Romeo and Bugatti are becoming serious competition for Mercedes-Benz on the racetrack. As a countermeasure, the engineers lighten their "white elephant," developed by chief designer Professor Ferdinand Porsche—so named for its powerful appearance, unbridled power, and white paint—by around 125 kilograms by drilling holes in the frame and wherever possible. The SSK becomes the SSKL (Super Sport Kurz Leicht). And with this car, the small crew led by race director Alfred Neubauer tackles one of their greatest adventures at the 1931 Mille Miglia in Italy. The "white elephant's" magnificent victory celebrates its 75th anniversary in 2006.
CMC pays tribute to him with a perfect replica of the unforgettable winning car. After extensive and painstaking research, CMC succeeded in discovering the original condition of the 1931 Mille Miglia winning car. We incorporated the insights gained into our incredibly detailed all-metal replica made up of 1,885 parts.
