Mercedes-Benz SSKL Mille Miglia Rudolf Caracciola CMC M-055

Description
Re-release of the legendary, long out-of-print model of the Mercedes-Benz SSKL 'The White Elephant' in 10/2020
Unforgotten: The White Elephant
1931. Alfa Romeo and Bugatti become serious competitors for Mercedes-Benz on the racetracks. As a countermeasure, the engineers lighten their "White Elephant" – named for its mighty appearance, untamed power, and white paintwork – developed by chief designer Professor Ferdinand Porsche, by approximately 125 kilograms by drilling holes in the chassis and wherever else it is justifiable. The SSK becomes the SSKL (Super Sport Kurz Leicht). And with this racing car, the small crew led by racing director Alfred Neubauer experiences one of their greatest adventures at the Mille Miglia in Italy in 1931. The magnificent victory of the "White Elephant" celebrates its 75th anniversary in 2006.
CMC honors it with a perfect replica of the unforgettable winning car. After extensive and elaborate research, CMC has succeeded in determining the original condition of the 1931 Mille Miglia winning car. The insights gained have been incorporated into our incredibly detailed all-metal replica consisting of 1,885 parts.
