Today, I am offering a collection from a former CMC dealer and  long-time collector of these beautiful models. Almost all of them are in mint condition, in their original packaging with all accessories as shown in my photos. If the model has leather straps to close the bonnets, these have never been opened. In many cases, the security stickers are still present. Everything should be clearly visible in the photos. One or two original packages may show signs of storage.

You will receive an invoice according to §25a UstG without separate declaration of value added tax for used goods.

Not suitable for children under 14 years. May contain small and sharp parts.

Model description:

With this model, CMC Classic Model Cars returns to the roots of its company history. The first model developed by the company founders Shuxiao Jia and Herbert Nickerl in 1995 was precisely this unique historical piece, at that time still replicated in a 1:24 scale. Immediately after its debut, the CMC miniature was voted "Model of the Year 1995" by a specialist magazine – the young company could not have had a better start.

As fascinating as the CMC model is the prototype vehicle, which is considered one of the world's most valuable Mercedes-Benz cars. Of the approximately 30 SSKs ever built, chassis number 36038 has one of the most interesting stories to tell. It was initially delivered to Japan in 1930 as a chassis without a body. From there, the chassis made its way to Italy, where it received its first body. The new owner and private racing driver Carlo Felice Trossi initially used the SSK in races. But then he pursued the idea of giving the car an aerodynamic roadster body in the style of the time. Scientific aerodynamics were still in their infancy in the early 1930s. Many of the streamlined vehicles of this era look sleek without having demonstrable dynamic advantages. One could say it was a fashion of the time, in which even everyday objects were designed to be streamlined.

Trossi himself put his idea for this unique special bodywork on paper.

Distinctive features include the teardrop-shaped fenders on all wheels, the pointed rear, and the curved connecting panels between the rear fenders and the tail. The execution of the work is attributed to a British coachbuilder named Willie White, but the sources for this are sparse. What is certain is that Trossi commissioned the bodywork in 1933, and the SSK was delivered to him the following year. The unique piece was painted in a deep, glossy black, whose reflections make the body curves appear almost magical. Today, the original vehicle belongs to one of the most significant private classic car collections in the world. At the time, CMC presented one of the models to the owner of the car, fashion designer Ralph Lauren. In his thank-you letter, he praised how wonderfully it had been made.

In 2020, the "Black Prince" will naturally be released in the collector's scale of 1:18 and with a level of detail that only a CMC miniature, assembled from over 1,000 parts, can achieve. At the Nuremberg Toy Fair, CMC will be showcasing an unpainted development sample of the roadster's spectacular body.
