The classic Silver Arrows from Mercedes-Benz remain forever highly respected icons of the 1930s. Racing cars such as the W25, the W125, the W154 and the
W165, but also drivers such as Manfred von Brauchitsch, Rudolf Caracciola, and Hermann Lang were at the forefront of international racing at the time. Not quite as prominent, but equally influential on the public image, were the racing transporters. Wherever the blue trucks bearing the "Mercedes-Benz Racing Department" lettering appeared, they impressively underscored the brand's competitive spirit. The replica of a 1930s racing transporter, kindly provided by Mercedes, served as a model for CMC in the development and reproduction of the miniature.
The Mercedes-Benz racing transporters, with their 65 hp diesel engines, contributed to the Silver Arrows' success in the 1930s by transporting the racing cars to the Grand Prix circuits on time, securing the supply chain from the factory, and serving as workshop vehicles. Occasionally, they also served as presentation vehicles. After major victories, they displayed the victorious Silver Arrows to the enthusiastic audience with their tarpaulins pulled down. A veritable fleet of transporters was deployed for major races – but none of the vehicles survived. This makes it all the more incentive for us to revive these historic transporters of the Mercedes Silver Arrows in the form of an authentically reproduced CMC high-end model.
