The Ferrari 275 GTB is a two-seater Gran Turismo racing car with a displacement of

275 cm3 per cylinder. Four 275 GTB "Competizione Speciale" cars were built in 1965, each equipped with a 250 LM engine. Their entire bodies were constructed from very thin aluminum. Magnesium was used for the chassis. The entire structure was further lightened by numerous drill holes. However, at some point, the lightweight construction reached its limits, and the FIA signaled to Ferrari that it would now question the car's homologation as a GT competitor. This threat, due to the significantly underweight vehicle design, was only withdrawn after Enzo Ferrari threatened to cease all racing activities. A compromise solution was eventually agreed upon. A Series II version of the 275 GTB appeared in 1966. The cars were announced as the 275GTB/C, with the "C" standing for Competizione. A total of twelve 275 GTB/C vehicles were produced, each equipped with either a twin-cam or quadruple-cam engine. The suspension was stiffened with auxiliary springs. The body, consisting of an ultra-thin aluminum skin—just half the thickness of the body used in the 275 GTB—was mounted on a super-lightweight chassis. The entire rear section was reinforced with a fiberglass overlay to prevent torsion. Many parts were made of magnesium to save weight.

A transmission or transmission fault meant that the 275 GTB/C had to make do with a triple carburetor engine. The engine was fitted with three Weber 40DF13 carburetors instead of the originally planned six-barrel 38 DCN carburettor setup. Unfortunately, the triple carburetor solution resulted in the 275 GTB/C losing some power.

CMC had the unique opportunity to conduct a complete data acquisition on a Ferrari 275GTB/C, chassis #09015, in absolutely original condition. The car is the second Series II car produced and one of the last GT-class cars produced by the Ferrari racing department in Maranello.

As with most 275GTB/C cars, chassis #09015 was used in various high-profile races. Throughout its racing career, the 275GTB/C cars achieved a number of victories.

CMC will prepare a limited edition of car #09015. This car was used by NART with starting number 26 and drivers Biscaldi and de Bourbon in the 1966 Le Mans endurance race.

CMC will also offer a standard model of a 275 GTB/C based on chassis # 09067 in red Ferrari livery and with a black interior.
