CMC M-250 1/18 Ferrari 250 GTO #153 RHD David Piper 1962 Tour de France, LE 2000

Description
Chassis 3767GT, painted in BP Racing Green, originally belonged to David Piper, a Formula 1 and Formula 2 racing driver. Tired of single-seaters, he decided to enter the sports car class in 1962 with the 250 GTO. By the end of that year, he achieved overall victories at the Kyalami 9 Hours and the Angolan Grand Prix. At the beginning of the following season, the car was sold to the United States, although Piper continued to drive it occasionally with its new owner, Ed Cantrell. After the 1964 Nassau Speed Week, the car was no longer part of contemporary racing and was acquired by the current owner in 1974. In recent years, it has been a regular participant in the Goodwood Revival.
CMC replicates this 250 GTO with a distinctive BP livery. This is what chassis 3767GT looked like when David Piper and Dan Margulies drove it to a fourth-place finish overall in the Tour de France on September 15, 1962, with starting number #153.
