1/18 Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato 'Goodwood Green' #441 CMC M-150 - Pre-owned
Description
Today I am offering the collection of a former CMC dealer and long-time collector of these beautiful models. Almost all of them are in new condition in their original packaging with all accessories as shown in my photos. If the model had leather straps to close the hoods, these were never opened. In many cases, the security stickers are still present. Everything should be clearly visible in the photos. One or the other original packaging may show signs of storage.
You will receive an invoice according to §25a UstG without VAT for used goods.
Not suitable for children under 14 years. May contain small and sharp parts
Model History:
What makes the Aston's story? In short, the Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato was, and is today more than ever, an exclusive and highly coveted sports car worldwide. Gianni Zagato, with his soft design language and famous curves, managed to create a body that simply captivated. Interestingly, the 19 original cars built all differed more or less in details, as Zagato often took customer wishes into account.
Aston Martin's goal was to become more competitive or even victorious in racing against the then dominant Ferrari 250 GT / SWB.
Zagato was famous for the extraordinary lightweight construction of its bodies. Through clever material selection (e.g. thin aluminum sheets), the omission of trim parts and unnecessary luxury, he managed to reduce the DB4 GT by another 100 kg. But even this "radical cure" did not lead to the hoped-for sporting successes for the Astons, which last competed with 314 hp. Even the two Zagato Coupés with the registration numbers "1 EV" and "2 EV" of the English racing stable Essex Racing Stable, which took part in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1961, failed and could not break Ferrari's dominance with the 250 GT / SWB.
Even famous drivers like Jim Clark, Roy Salvadori or Innes Ireland had to acknowledge Ferrari's dominance in subsequent races on AM DB4 GT Zagato.
CMC based its model on the 19 original DB4 GT Zagato and chose the "Goodwood Green" color pattern for the paintwork.
