Description
After overcoming the global economic crisis at the end of the 1920s, a new industrial awakening was evident everywhere. Daimler-Benz AG, with its commercial vehicle plant in Gaggenau, also developed new, innovative transport vehicles that impressed primarily with their cost-effectiveness and technical reliability. The introduction of diesel-powered trucks was considered a revolution in the truck market.
As a variant of our open flatbed truck, CMC also offers a LO 2750 model with a closed body. To protect the goods being transported from the elements, a tarpaulin body was typically chosen at the time. Our model features a tarpaulin made of genuine linen fabric, stretched over a metal tarpaulin frame with wooden cover strips. The tarpaulin itself is attached to the foldable tail lifts with brass eyelets and threaded textile cord, true to the original. The tarpaulin body is, of course, removable, and there are no limits to your imagination when it comes to loading the flatbed. A skillfully coordinated three-tone paint scheme in green, red, and black tones ensures a harmonious exterior appearance of this impressive truck model.
As a homage to our unforgettable CMC co-founder, Mr. Herbert Nickerl, we have given the tarpaulin structure his name and, if you will, assigned it the role of a “fictitious freight forwarding company” in order to remember him in this way.
