Description
This model is pre-owned and comes in top condition in its original packaging with all accessories shown in the pictures. The original packaging shows signs of storage.
Its complex tubular space frame, intricately woven from over 200 short tube sections, gave the Maserati Tipo 60/61 its memorable and now legendary name, "Birdcage." Weighing a mere 30 kg, this frame was a stroke of genius by its inventor, Maserati's chief engineer Giulio Alfieri. The Tipo 61's "cage," encased in an extremely tight-fitting aluminum body, is powered by a 2.9-liter inline four-cylinder engine that delivers a hefty 250 hp to the road.
Only 23 Tipo 60/61 models were built between 1959 and 1961.
This white model, featuring a blue longitudinal stripe, is based on the winning car of Lucky Casner's Camoradi team and represents model-making at its finest. Not only the tubular space frame – impressively showcased in the windshield area – but also the many other details are a feast for the eyes. Discover the fastest roll cage of all time.
