Maserati 250F #32 GP Monaco "Fangio", 1957
In 1957, Maserati was at the peak of its racing success. After Juan Manuel Fangio returned to the Maserati factory team, he won numerous Grand Prix races in his Maserati 250 F (lightweight version) and celebrated his fifth Grand Prix World Championship at the end of the season.
At the very first race of the Formula 1 World Championship, the Monaco Grand Prix on May 19, 1957, Juan Manuel Fangio was able to enter his name on the winners list.
After an initially dramatic race with numerous position changes and several car spins involving the Lancia/Ferrari drivers and the British Vanwall cars, Fangio, with starting number 32, was able to pull away from the field and steer toward a comfortable victory. British racing driver Tony Brooks finished second in a Vanwall.
