Description
Completed in June 1962, chassis 3647GT was originally intended for Col. Ronnie Hoare's Bowmaker racing team in England. John Surtees drove it very successfully until he suffered a serious accident at Goodwood in August. After rebuilding, the car was sold to a French-based Prince Zourab Tchkotoua of Russia, who used it for special events, but in 1963, almost exactly a year later, he had another serious accident at Goodwood. After the second rebuild, chassis 3647GT was raced at smaller events in Italy before being sold to the United States. The car presented by CMC was driven by John Surtees/Mike Parkes with the
Car number #11 drove to a 2nd OA and 2nd IC finish at 1000 km Paris, Montlhéry on October 21, 1962.
