Limited edition 2000 pieces

After their outstanding performances in the GT Championship in 1962, the Ferrari 250 GTOs were increasingly used in the famous long-distance rallies in the following years, especially the "Tour de France d'Automobile." Here, too, the GTOs achieved outstanding successes, including victories and top finishes in 1963 and 1964. CMC has recreated the winning GTO car of the 1964 TdF, starting number 172, driven by Lucien Bianchi and Georges Berger, as a true-to-original, high-end miniature at an 18-fold scale.

Special features of this GTO variant:

-Fuel filler neck on the right side of the vehicle

-Cover of the ventilation behind the rear wheels

-Exhaust tailpipes led out laterally under the doors

-Only one windshield wiper on the driver's side

Chassis 4491GT was sold new in 1963 to David Piper, a British racing driver, and painted in the bright BP racing green. Piper drove the car with considerable success at many racetracks such as Mallory Park, Silverstone, Brands Hatch, Daytona, and Monza, among others. During the winter of 1963/64, he had #4491 modified with a shortened windshield and a reshaped roof. The car subsequently changed hands several times until its current Italian owner had it restored to its original condition in 1981, with Piper's modifications removed. Presented by CMC, the car was raced at Silverstone on July 20, 1963, finishing 2nd in the OA class and 2nd in the GT class. Other successes include 4th place.
OA in Monza and the 1st OA in Kyalami, to name just a few.
