Seit vielen Jahren vertrauen über 625+ Kunden auf CMC-Modelcars-Only

Today I am offering a collection from a former CMC dealer and  long-time collector of these beautiful models. Almost all of them are in new condition in their original packaging with all accessories, as shown in my photos. If the model had leather straps for closing the hoods, these were never opened. In many cases, the security stickers are still present. Everything should be clearly visible in the photos. One or two original packages may show signs of storage.

You will receive an invoice according to §25a UstG without showing the statutory value-added tax for used goods.

Not suitable for children under 14 years. May contain small and sharp parts

Model History:

Description of the original vehicle: For the upcoming 24 Hours of Le Mans race in 1938, Alfa's newly founded racing department "Alfa Corse" was particularly motivated; they wanted to win! An 8C 2900 B with a special body and an enhanced engine was to make this possible.

They commissioned the renowned coachbuilder Touring to build a closed body (Berlinetta) shaped according to aerodynamic knowledge, using the famous lightweight Superleggera construction method. The result was a breathtaking and at the same time very futuristic-looking racing car ready for the start.

The experienced long-distance racing team of Raymond Sommer and Clemente Biondetti entered the race at Sarthe with start number 19. Never before in the history of Le Mans racing had a vehicle dominated the race so dominantly and superiorly as the 8C 2900 B Speciale.

In the 20th hour of the race, the Alfa Corse team was already leading the field by 11 laps, or about 160 km, ahead of all competitors, when the right front tire burst at top speed.

Driver Raymond Sommer was able to catch the car, keep it on track and reach the pits. There it became apparent that tire parts had damaged the engine mounting and that engine oil was also lost. Nevertheless, Clemente Biondetti, still as the leading team, dared to return to the track once more, but had to definitively give up after only two laps due to valve damage.

Thus, a victory that was already thought to be certain ended in disaster from one second to the next. Le Mans 1938 was the only appearance of the 8C 2900 B Speciale with the Touring Superleggera body.
