Description
This wonderful Horch 853 sports convertible is something like the 'Blue Mauritius' of CMC models for the passionate model car collector. This is the resin model of the Horch, the first and so far only model from CMC made of this material. 500 models were planned at the time. However, persistent rumors persist that the molds were mysteriously lost. Thus, only 45 models of this wonderful sports convertible are said to have been built. These pictures are original pictures of my recently acquired model. It was made from 801 components and weighs only 1.25 kg. The engine compartment wings, the tailgate, and the doors can be opened. The top is not built to function. It can and never could be closed. The door windows are also not designed to be wound up and down. The latter two functions are the difference from the successor model made of copper sheet. I suspect that the 45 M-022 only came onto the market when the black and silver Horch made of copper sheet with the item number CMC No. C-001 was delivered. The original packaging bears the same construction number C-001. However, the shipping carton has the serial number 044 printed on it, which is identical to the serial number tag for this model: #044/500. Unlike the diecast models, there are four screw holes on the underbody. These indicate that the model could be mounted on the base of a single display case. This was probably planned, but was never produced by CMC due to the low production run. The model is about 20 years old, but shines like the first day after completion because it has never been in a display case before. I'm not sure if another model in such PERFECT condition has survived.
The happy original owner, a passionate collector from Hamburg, acquired the model from a Hamburg dealer. Since he had a second 1/12 Horch in a different color scheme, but found this one more appealing, the second model was put on display. Thus, the M-022 was returned to its original packaging, where it had been stored until recently. The Horch appears in brand-new condition, without any flaws. A collector's dream.
Please note: This model will not be shipped. Pickup and personal delivery within a distance of approximately 800 km are possible.
