The collector was one of the very first fans of CMC models. All models were kept in dust-proof wall display cases custom-made by a carpenter. Please view all pictures to see what you get. Most models are in absolute top condition in their original packaging with all papers. As it turned out, this was a good choice, as Zagato once again did an excellent job with its distinctive design language. The four-meter-long car has two spare wheels housed in a rear well. A textile emergency soft top provides some rain protection in bad weather. A striking identifying feature are the red and removable plastic covers of the three front headlights, which are intended to improve the vehicle's aerodynamics.

The Gran Sport is powered by an in-line six-cylinder engine developed by Alfa Romeo's brilliant chief designer, Vittorio Jano. With its Roots supercharger and Memini twin-barrel carburetor, the 6C 1750 GS produces a respectable 85 hp at 4500 rpm. Many factory race cars even featured welded cylinder heads (testa fissa) and could boast a proud 102 hp at 5000 rpm. With this excellent power output, whether 85 or 102 hp, combined with a low vehicle weight of 920 kg and a wheelbase shortened to 2745 mm, which radically changed the GS's handling for the better, the Gran Sport rose to become the most famous Alfa Romeo of that era.

Numerous important victories across Europe, such as at the Mille Miglia in 1930 and 1931 or the rainy Irish Tourist Trophy race, to name just a few, made it the undisputed dominator of the racing era. Only for the rigors of the 24 Hours of Le Mans was the 6C 1750 GS too weak.

Technical data of the original vehicle

• Two-seater Spyder with Zagato light alloy body
• Steel box frame
• In-line six-cylinder engine with two overhead camshafts
• Crankcase and cylinder head made of light alloy
• Four-speed gearbox with open shift gate
• Front and rear rigid axle with leaf springs and friction dampers

Power:

85 hp at 4,500 rpm
102 hp at 5,000 rpm (factory cars 1930)

Displacement:

1,752 ccm

Bore x Stroke:

65 x 88 mm

Wheelbase:

2,745 mm

Track front / rear:

1,380 / 1,380 mm

Fuel system:

Roots supercharger with Memini twin-barrel carburetor

Vehicle weight:

920 kg (85 hp)
840 kg (102 hp, factory car 1930)

Top speed:

145 km/h (85 hp)
approx. 170 km/h (102 hp)
